Initial ideas and thoughts

Locations:

• Richmond park; natural= natural emotions, singer walking by rows of trees different angles and parts of the park such as by the ponds, singing and not singing.
• Pure white background; singing to and away from camera, purity of emotions.
• In a cafe looking as the camera through people to artist.
• Sitting on a swing( deserted place) looking lonely.
• Walking by a derilicked railway, relating to journey emphasis.
• Paper aeroplanes (motif) coming towards, away from the camera. used as an editing technique.
• walking by a river/ street with a parasol, top and skirt with a bow in her hair.
• sitting on a tree branch signing towards the camera.
• Different types of backgrounds; black and white, flower wallpaper, pleaing to the camera, kneeling down,sitting down.
• Grey scale
• Hampton court; period costumes
• London deserted streets (quest to find something shes looking for )
• Going through time ( time travelor) 40's 60's 80's and 00's, 4 different locations and costumes.

Props and costume

• Flowers used to add to the nature of emotions.
• Ripping up a picture, then seeing the picture as whole again.
• costume- white top, jeans, cow boy boots, long coat, 40's dress, long flowing dress, make-up; natural and natural hair.

Camera 

• A journey, constant movement of the camera.
• Slow camera movements, lots of close-ups, very emotional.
• very emotional pleaing to the camera
• filming shots of her looking towards and away from the camera.
• filming trees blowing in the wind whilst tracking with camera, with and without artist.
• constant movement with camera,artist and editing.

Make Up Ideas

Initially, we was going to have a mysterious creature/spirit in our music video, to which we were going to make have a strange and mysterious look about them using different make up techniques and designs. However, we tried to recreate some of these designs and it didn't have the effect we were wishing for.

Costume and Location...

For one of the locations we have chosen to use in our music video, which is to be some abandoned or misused streets in the urban city. Our artist will be made to look out of place, becasue she is on a quest to find herself and what shes looking for in her life. So, the costume that our artist will be wearing, should cowgirlesque. Perhaps just wearing a simple pair of jeans, cowboy boots, shirt and waistcoat maybe??? with a cowboy/stetson hat.

Another location that we are chosing to use is in a park. We will be filming around a pond and amoungst trees and plants, a very natural setting, to go with the whole vibe of the song. Which has a very naturalistic feel to it. For this location our artist will be dressed in a long pale pink coat, to signify not only her femaninity but also a sense of immaturity, (woman stuck in a girls world) at the begining of the song, however, as the song goes on, the artist will lose the pink coat as she begins her journey, and shows how she will be growing up and become a mature woman.

Throughout the video, there will be a mystery spirit, following the artist in the background. Similar to how Duran Duran used a mystery mythical type woman in their 'Rio' video.
This character will be wearing flowing clothes, possibly white...to make them appear ghost like and light. We might experiment with make up on their face to see if we can make them appear more creature like as well.

Although we did feel that having a mystery spirit in our music video would have been a good idea, we decided against this because we didn't feel it would be appropraite in the song, and would have a real meaning, other than making it complicated and distracting the songs meaning away from the artist finding themselves to running away from an unknown spirit.

Lyrics

We analysed the lyrics to the song, to determine its meaning and whats it' about. We discovered that it's about being on a journey of discovery and finding yourself, similar to a quest.
